Connecting People - 01/22/2007

Remy is Cafe Manager at the ConneXion Jugend Cafe.  His main job is to connect with the youth who come to the ConneXion.  There is definitely a learning curve, especially with the need to learn German, but Remy is doing a great job!  He's connecting.

Last week he invited a couple of the kids over for dinner.  Jenny and Ricko.  It went well.  After spending the evening in our home, Remy assisted them to their respective homes, and was invited into each one.  Remy felt like it gave him a great opportunity to go deeper, to understand where they are really coming from, to know their families a little bit.

On Sunday, both of them came to the church service, where we exceptionally had an evangelist speaking.  Pray for Jenny and Ricko and their families.  Pray for Remy as he continues to seek to connect people to their Creator.

On Saturday all day, Remy and Kandee and I worked all day at the ConneXion.  (Merritt came down to help for a while later in the afternoon.)  Kandee is in charge of the renovations at ConneXion this year.  She organized a work day for Saturday.  There were probably twenty-some Germans, mainly youth, who showed up for the work day.  We painted, laid carpet, wired some the P.A. system, etc., etc..  There was a wonderful esprit de corps.  A lot of great renovation was gone and everybody was enthusiastic!
