Harris Boutique! - 01/06/2007
Okay, we have experienced yet another way to help people. Our Stuttgart Military Base contacts, starting with our Multnomah Bible College friends, Terry and Sue Hayes (he is a Chaplain, now they are stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas), then Mark and Tina Juliano, continue to help us help others. Protestant Women of the Chapel is behind it. They provided hundreds of used glasses which we found missionaries who have contacts in Moldova who give glasses to poor Moldovans, who can't afford them. Then they provided lots of used things, appliances, a little bit of everything, for all the missionaries in this region. At the GEM office in Mullheim, we have an extra room in the basement, so Kandee set up what she called "The Blessing Store." Missionaries can come to The Blessing Store and take whatever they need. The Stuttgart Protestant Women of the Chapel keep The Blessing Store furnished with "blessings." This week we had something new. The military base has these new clothing stores which need to get rid of last years clothes that didn't sell. Apparently, the stores end up throw out and burning lots and lots of perfectly good clothing. So Mark and Tina got ahold of these clothes, stuffed their van totally full of nice clothing, and brought them to the Harris Boutique. There was nice clothes! Lots of nice clothes! Our Dining room table and chairs and sideboard were piled up with nice looking clothing. Kandee called a few missionaries and told them to pass the word around. Missionaries started flocking into the Harris Boutique to find new clothing ... free new clothing. We even had a fitting room (our bathroom). For a couple days, we had people knocking on our doors, off and on all day! For the clothes that missionaries do not take, we will give to a local ministry which takes a truck load of goods into Romania every month. So poor Romanians will be able to benefit from blessings that God have sent our way. Thank you, Terry and Sue. Thank you, Mark and Tina. Thank you, Lord.
