12 days of Christmas! - 01/06/2007
January 6 marks the 12th day of Christmas and is the Christian "Three Kings Day," Epiphany Day, Heilige Drei Könige. It's the celebration of the fulfilled prophecy of the Magi who came from the East following a star, to see the birth of the King of the Jews, bearing precious gifts. It is a precious part of the Christmas story: Magis, wealthy Wise Men, travel from afar to honor Jesus, the new born King. "Wise men still seek HIM." Tomorrow, January 7, is the official Eastern Orthodox Christmas, according to the Julian Calendar. Many Orthodox Believers feel like the December 25 Christmas is too commercialized. If you know an Orthodox Believer, wish him/her a Merry Christmas!
